Parking the Beast at Nannie's House

We got to Nannie's house later in the evening. You need to know that Nannie's house is on a very steep hill and on a dead end. We thought the easiest thing to do was to turn it around in the dead end, but when we got up there we discovered that part of the road was blocked off by barriers due to the fire that occurred last summer. So there we were in a 38 ft truck really stuck. We tried backing up but with my poor navigating skills and Travis's little experience with trailers that we only got ourselves in more of a pickle.
Then with in five minutes of our literally huge problem a car drove up and it just so happened that we were blocking their driveway. We did manage to allow room to let them around, but the two men where so nice and stayed and helped us un-pickle ourselves. One of the men backed up our truck and trailer all the way down the road turned it around and put it in the road so that we could easily load or unload and pull out the next day. He was truly God sent and without him we would still be stuck up on that hill!
After that fiasco we did manage to grab dinner and go and visit Nanny at her assistent living home. It was so good to see her and catch up and like always she had so much to say.

  1. Sorry Trav but this made me laugh. I am glad that someone was around to help you guys out though. I can't imagine doing what you two are doing. At least you have each other. Excited to hear about the next day's adventure!
