Unpacking and then some...

Our first goal that morning was to return the Uhaul trailer so movers could come and help us unload the truck. We had picked to return the trailer to Vicki's Fishing and Hunting (the name alone should have sent off red flags). We chose this place because on the map it was only a few minutes from the North side of the base (where we live). We called to get exact directions because we hadn't seen it coming into base. Tina (the sweet employee at Vicki's Hunting and Fishing) told us that they were located about 20 minutes south of the other side of the base...no where near where we were told. We didn't let the longer than expected trip get our spirits down and started the drive to return the trailer, so we could get moved in. When we got there we were told to put the trailer into a huge mud pit! Not wanting to argue we did as we were told! Travis got out to unhitch the trailer but before he could get to it a skinny man with tight wranglers and a big belt buckle and his girlfriend in a black cut off t-shirt were on the hitch trying to take it off the truck. Travis was very grateful for the help and surprised. The ball wouldn't come out of the hitch so the man told Travis to jump on it, he did and still nothing. Finally the girlfriend said "I can do it I weigh 175lbs" she jumped on that hitch yelling, "175 lbs, 175lbs come oooon 175 lbs!" Soon enough you heard "pop" that ball came off and we were unhooked. Travis thanked both of them for their help and all of us entered the store. The man was there to buy a some bullets for his gun and was on his way. Friendly locals I chalked it up to!
It was our turn to do the paper work to return the trailer...Tina and Mike made the transaction while flirting heavily with each other. Mike would type about thirty seconds on the computer and say, "Did ya see that?" Tina would slap his arm and smile and say, "You went too fast I don't got bionic eyes," and back and forth it went. As odd as that was I couldn't take my eyes off the red jar of picked eggs....that is when it hit me. I was far from home!

Unfortunately both people we called to help us move all the boxes and furniture out of a stuffed 27' Uhaul backed out. With no friends in town it was left to us to unload the monster. It took four hours to clean out the beast! But there was nothing more beautiful than seeing it's empty belly. We were done!!! With a late night of pizza Travis and I slept in our king bed (with sheets) in our new house. It was a restful night!!
