Staying with Miss Jayme and Rudy

After a long day of travel through southern California and part of Arizona it was nice to stay with Jayme (Travis's cousin) that night in Phoenix. She was so nice to let us stay with her because we called her last minute, and she had to work in the morning and it was almost 2100 by the time we got in. As nice as it was to see Jayme nobody enjoyed seeing each other more than Rudy (Jayme's dog) and Charlie! They were friends from that get go! As a mother I was a little concerned about the boy's relationship because it went something like this. Charlie would hump Rudy...Rudy would stand there till Charlie got tired and then as if they were tag teaming, Charlie would jump down and stand while Rudy humped him. If this was an act of dominance neither one claimed to be king of the mountain. Travis and I watched and laughed till we had to split them up because we needed to get some rest.
Poor Watson didn't enjoy the night as much. We had to put him in the bathroom because we didn't want him to hurt Rudy. About half way through the night he started meowing...I remembered I hadn't fed him, but it was so late and his food was in the truck down the street. Luckily in my sleepy state I remembered I had bought him a little can of food for Christmas. I popped the top of it placed it on the floor and Watson dove in like a fly on poop! We didn't hear from him all night after that. Unfortunately Jayme had to work so we said goodbye to her in the morning and we got up soon after and were on the road by 0730 to miss traffic.
